Now, let’s be clear from the off, I’m no Mark Kermode and these reviews will not be the most stylised or structured that you have ever read. How to do this? Well, I thought the only way to reach as many people as possible and get my views across without being shouted down by the cinematic lynch mob which is my friends and family, was to start this site. Now, I know I’m not the only one that likes a ‘so bad it’s good’ movie, however sadly amongst my group of peers, no one else seems to or is willing to admit they do, so I want to try reach out those people that think like I do about movies in general.
I cannot count the number of times I have had to sit through some pretty excruciating conversations, full of pretentious waffle, littered with Mark Kermode quotations citing how a particular movie’s cinematography or lighting really brought it to life or how the movie was great – because Mark Kremode said so.Īll I really want to know is whether the movie was generally any good and if it is worth a watch, which I think is a pretty simple expectation! For years now, I have been ridiculed by my nearest and dearest friends and family for my apparent ‘poor taste in movies’ and have consequently participated in countless debates, vehemently trying to defend my movie choices, usually to no avail due to the aforementioned being ‘experts in the field’.
